project | waterfall

yesterday was such a beautiful day, the weather made me yearn for spring where everyday is as beautiful as the one we were so graciously given. we wanted to make the most of the time we had basking in it's glory, it was just one of those 'must do something fun' kind of days. we decided to head up towards gatlinburg to hike to a waterfall that i had found online- the day was titled "quest for the perfect waterfall." although, by the time we got started, which was later than i had hoped we only had time to spend and hike to one, "laurel falls." it was a three mile hike there and back, paved so we were able to take the stroller- and i must say the kid loved the 'big water' as he called it. it was so very pretty- the pictures really don't do the experience and time there justice. the day was a success of family fun- just the way i love it.

in his element (photos)

i just wanted to take a moment and share a few photos that i recently took of the boy. i spent most of the morning locked away in his little world with him, watching him thru the shutter. i love photographing him in his element, still in his pajama's...oh, so precious. he would wear those p.j.'s all day if he could- he LOVES his "gitchow" as he calls 'cars (lightening mcqueen)'. i just thought these were too precious not to take a brief moment to share.

breaking point.

there comes a time (sometimes) in a relationship where you kinda gotta take a step back and take a breather, it's a mixed emotion but I think this time has come for me and the blog world. Although I have never been an AVID blogger, I enjoy it, I really do- but sometimes I think about my time 'before blog' and honestly it was kinda sweet, strange- maybe, I guess I'm just weird like that. I'm so busy just enjoying life that I don't really have any extra time- or I guess I don't want to take the that extra time away from my everyday life. I don't know how much time I wanna take- I just know I got-sta do it. On occasion I may toss a picture or two up- for a little sneak peek into this life o' mine, but for a while that will be all...I am so excited about this year and all that it holds, the moments and memories, the travels that we are planning, the celebrations of life and those traditional holiday celebrations, the honor to watch my son grow, discovering new loves for my husband, fun times with the family and all the new goodies two thousand eleven has to offer. I am so very thankful for every second of everyday and I feel so very blessed (because I am). Life is great. So, until further notice, I leave you with a couple pictures.

HELLO, BEAUTIFUL!!!

twenty-fourth of the month.

today is a special day, an important day- not just because of the general fact that everyday we get to live and experience life is special- because that in itself is a reason to daily celebrate. on this very day, the twenty-fourth day in the month of january, twenty nine years ago a VERY important person, a boy (now a man, of course) was born. who you may ask? who could be so important to me that would make them blog worthy? i shall answer that very question momentarily, but before i tell you who this man is let me take a moment to tell you a little bit about him.

kind hearted, humble- a man of integrity. excells at everything he does. he is a husband and a daddy, a best friend, a lover of life, ice cream and seizing everyday. ice cream is his favorite food group, a kid at heart. he is crazy about his family and of course, they too, are crazy about him. his kid is his passion and his mini-me. he is a hard worker, a provider. he loves to make people laugh- master of jokes and all things funny, people love to be around him because he is "the funny man!" he's a good man, a really, really good man, beautiful on the inside and out. caring, loyal, compassionate, romantic- a true gentleman. i met this man eleven years ago, he has been the king of my heart for almost nine of those years. i am so thankful, so blessed to share this life with him. to everyday, have the honor and priveledge to say that i know such an amazing man. the man that i speak of is not an ordinary man, far from it, he is my husband, my babies daddy. i love you, b- for all that you are and everything you are becoming. for all you have done and all that you do. for the miles and miles of smiles and life experiences, i love you. i hope this day is as spectacular as you and that the twenty-ninth year of your life will be magnificent. happy happy is the day you were born, today we celebrate all that is you, here's looking at you kid.

good.morning, beautiful saturday.

I woke up this morning to a note (this note, as pictured) from my darling husband, SO sweet, he is sincerely the best! What a way to start the weekend out right, what a lover boy. He may consider himself lucky, but he's not nearly as lucky as me.

The note reads as follows:
"some mornings I wake up and I am hit with an

I am almost paralyzed to the point I can't get out of bed.

viva las vegas.

we had a BLAST in vegas. we did SO much in the time we had there- although it seemed like it just wasn't enough time, although i was very ready to get back to my baby- i was missing him terribly. the snow storm hit us hard, therefore we had to leave sooner than expected. we headed out saturday before dark and made our way to knoxville where it barely looked like it had even done anything, we ate dinner did some shopping and then decided that we should get a room about midnight when we had exhausted everything we had to do. we got about 2 hours of sleep, IF THAT before we had to be shuttled to the airport for our 5:30 a.m. flight to CHARLOTTE (for whatver reason). flying was just as great as i remember, although the little planes to and from knoxville were a bit more nerve racking than the bigger jets. we had a short layover there and then we boarded and headed to our destination. once we made it to vegas we had been awake a total of 23 hours- that did not in any way hinder our ability to hit the ground running...and that we did! in the two days time we were able to check off everything on my list (after elliminating a couple things that we opted to not do). it was an amazing trip and i LOVED going somewhere that i had not been to (that i could remember). here is some pictures, only highlighting some of our adventures- there are tons more- blogs are just a pain to upload to. we are looking forward to our other travels this year, extremely excited to start thinking and planning them, maybe another one even as soon as my twenty fifth birthday. this year has started off just right and i am loving it- cheers to many more travels.
