"Tomorrow is an exciting thought."- Me
So I had a great Mother's Day- we started the celebrating on Sat. (we are a celebrating people) when the family took myself and my mom out to dinner, which was yummy. We finished up the evening with a little outlet shopping and exchanging of our gifts. It feels really good to be acknowledged by my Mom as a Mom myself- to hear from my parents that they are proud of the person and parent that I have become- after all they are the veterans. Sunday, was a super busy day seeing as how we made the haul to good ole' RC for the day to see the grandma's. We had lunch with the whole family and then made our stops at both houses for some extra one on one time with them. As I stated in a previous blog- I was super excited about Mother's Day. I have had the honor for two years now to be recognized and celebrated as a Mom and it has become one of my most favorite things to celebrate, because being a Momma is, of course, my most favorite thing. Logan was an absolute doll and showered me with LOTS of love, hugs and kisses- Momma was his word of choice yesterday. Bruce said that he had been explaing to him about the day and what it meant, and in his own way I think he actually got it. Not that he isn't a lil' Casanova every other day, but yesterday I think, maybe, he was a little more. The little actions and the way he shows his love to me melts my heart...seriously. (Kinda off subject, but never hurts to share none-the-less) We have a thing we do called a three kiss- he pulls mine and his daddy's heads together and we all kiss at the same time. It was something that I started when he was little and we just did it before he went to bed- of which we did to him. Now, he initiates it and reaches out with both arms wide grabs us and pulls us close then proceeds to lay one on the both of us at the same time- just thinking about it makes my heart smile. I take delight in the beauty and happiness of my son, that alone makes my heart too big for my body. As I was trying to write- before I slightly got off track with one of my happy Momma whims (sheesh), yesterday was only a day trip- so after showering all the ladies with some love and appreciation we made the haul back up the mountain. The ride home Logan rode with his Nana and Papa in the big truck and my brother and sister rode with myself and B...Needless to say it was a blast of a time. We listened to songs that we haven't listened to since, "1994- said Tyler." We all danced, some of which looked a bit like convulsing and sung the songs as loud as we could, laughing hysterically in between. There is nothing in the world that feels better than knowing you have the freedom to act completely and utterly stupid with someone and they wont judge you- they are right there with you acting just a nutty as you are. It was really fun, a breath of fresh air. I stay so uptight sometimes and when I get the opportunity to let loose and be stupid, it's as if I am starting over, like I went to the spa and got an inner cleansing, laughter heals my heart. Freedom is...being totally crazy and not thinking twice about it. Have I said how much fun it was?!?! Once we made it home the boys of course showered me with unnecessary gifts because, being the momma to the most beautiful blue eyed boy is BEYOND enough. But of course I didn't get mad or anything...(insert winky face here.) Lil' man helped me open the gifts and got just as excited about the gifts as I did. He helped his daddy pick some of them out- and of course those are the best! The card filled with the writings from Logan and recording of "Momma"- and all sorts of giggles and animal sounds brought tears to my eyes. It is the best card I have ever received and I am so excited about the ones from years to come. What they will be filled with- all the little thoughts that will be put into the words and drawings. I am one happy Momma.
Time is flying by- it's almost the middle of May- which means we are beach bound very soon...I am so excited. Logan is going to absolutely love it. He loves playing in sand and I of course am already planning the photo opportunities that we will have and the different sets of "shoots" I want to have while we are down there. I always look forward to certain things more than anything, of course the actual trip and time away with some much needed and appreciated R&R, the food, we have certain restaurants and things we like to eat while we are there, shopping- specifically Build-A-Dino for lil' Man, and last but certainly not least all the pictures. The actual drive down there doesn't excite me so much.
I am really excited about all the holidays and am already thinking and planning costumes and birthday ideas, however, I am really glad that summer is here and don't wanna make it go any faster than it is already going to. We have a lot of things planned that we would like to do. My grandpa owns a condo in Gatlinburg and is wanting to sell it- we offered to go take some pics of it for him and in return stay the night and enjoy some Gatlinburg night life and day, they have all kinds of neat restaurants, the aquarium, and neat little shops. I think it would be loads of fun.
Life is good really, really good. I am happy... SO happy. I have everything I need right here with me. I hope that this entry finds you living it up and feeling the same way.
