s'wonderful day.

today has been magical- beautiful, blustery and oh so wonderful! The snow has been a constant today- peppering down, nothing laying but just watching it come down is beautiful-magical, good things happen when it snows, ya know! I saw the sweetest thing today, yes of course I am going to tell you- the kiddo, who has mastered the art of unlocking both the lock and deadbolt and opening the door (and trying to escape) made his way out on the front porch earlier today and there he was spinning around, hands raised to the sky trying to catch the flakes (in SHORT SLEEVES!!!!) of course I RUSHED to get him back in as quickly as I could move from just watching him (and fighting back the tears...there was so much beauty in that one simple moment, they couldn't be helped)- I KNOW, I am such a sap! I got him more appropiately dressed and we took a moment outside to go "catch" some more flakes, we weren't out there long before we were ready to head back inside due to the fact that it was so cold like, icicles hanging cold!!! I have spent some time getting caught up on wrapping presents off and on today while the Christmas music played thru the t.v. speakers- so much fun to do but by the end of the season I am slightly worn out. I took a break from the wrapping for us to make homemade gingerbread men cookies- so much fun and they made the house smell SO good. Lo is was quiet the little cooker/helper/decorater of said cookies, he wanted to do it all- aside from the occasional break that he would take when he got engrossed in the classic Rudolph the red nosed reindeer that was playing across the room. We ended this lovely day snuggled up on the couch with some yummy pizza. I so love days like today, they definitley fall on the list of favorites!
A couple crafts that Lo (we) have recently made.
I thought I would share- because they are
oh so cute!!
The first is an ornament of HoHo
made with his handprint with finger paints,
some googly eyes and ribbon.
The second is Rudolph made with his handprints (antlers)
and footprint (head), googly eyes, a red pom pom (nose),
ribbon (bow) and gold glitter glue (for bells).
I SO enjoy doing these kinds of things like this with him-
I have many more planned!
