ten spot.

{ten spot}

it’s been a while- so it’s time.

1. I am looking SO forward to my weekend away with my guys in none other than our favorite, Charleston. It has been calling my name for months now and the hubster surprised me with a trip for this weekend. It’s been a really long time since we have been away, the three of us. It has been YEARS since I have been there in the warm weather, when we go- we always go for our anniversary which is in the heart of the winter. It’s going to be so nice to be in shorts and dresses and the forecast for this weekend is JUST PERFECT. It’s only two more days away, yay!

2. I have a new favorite eat. The hubby made fruit dip to go with the fruit tray for my birthday. He used cream cheese, whip cream and marshmallow fluff. Oh.my.goodness. It is just wonderful. We have ate on it and have run out of fruit. I foresee a run to the store this evening to stock up on some more fruit to go with the heavenly dip that is a feeling a little lonely in the fridge.

3. I am so excited to announce that so far in my (so far two months) journey of weight loss I have lost a total of fifteen pounds. I feel happy with that, but still am not where I want to be, but I’m steadily working on it. It just feels really good to say that I am seeing some progress, especially in pictures. I have to give a shout out to my hubby, who in two months time has lost a total of twenty-six pounds, yay!! He is doing SO good, looking SO good too! ;)

4. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the ever expanding and growing imagination of my two year old. I never know what kind of adventure I am going to go on. Just the other day, he told me he was going on a space rocket, up to the sky, to the clouds, the stars, the moon; but NOT the sun. After telling me this, he so sweetly asked me, “Momma, go with you?!” as he patted on his chest, of course I jumped all over the chance to go answering, “YES!!! I will go anywhere with you!” He pretends to be a choo choo train, running around the yard, “ALL ABOARD, Choo Choo!” as his little legs run rampit, asking anyone around to ride on his choo choo, of course this means you have to fall in behind and run along as well. One more story and I’m done with number four. The other day while visiting daddy at work, he was playing with some piping- this particular pipe that he had was squiggly, kinda in the shape of an ‘s’- well, obviously, to him this was not just any ole’ pipe, it was in fact a trunk, an elephants trunk. He held this pipe up to his nose, lifted his head and made “elephant noises”- can I get a HOW(www) CUTE!!!, because it most definitely was. My life is full of adventures that await, and that really excites me.

5. I’m thinking that tonight is a good night to give myself a pedicure (maybe with a foot, leg rub from the hubby, *hint *hint, love!). My mom got me the stuff for my birthday and I’m so eager to use it. If not tonight, I definitely want to do it before our trip.

6. Last night a new talent show came on NBC called, The Voice. It was SO good. I LOVED it. I love the whole concept of it and I thought the talent was great, I was hitting my at home “I want you!” button. It is set to “record series” on the DVR- if you didn’t watch it, you really should tune in.

7. I love storms, always have. But, I do not love the thoughts of possible tornados!!! We just experienced some serious hail- I keep thinking about my poor car that has already experienced a hail storm one time this year while in NC. I guess we shall see in the morning.

8. I cleaned out my facebook today. My list of friends had grown into some people that I didn’t really know or people who hadn’t been on since 2010 and people who were constantly posting and/or sending requests for all those “ville’s.” It was something new for me- I kinda felt bad for hitting the “unfriend” button- but did it anyway. I don’t think they will miss me too bad.

9. I have been singing the blues recently. (Not bad blues)- that’s all I’m gonna say on that matter. :)

10. My brother and sister are going to prom this year (it’s next weekend, I can’t believe it’s already here!!!). I am so excited for them and so excited to be a part. Of course, I am taking their pictures but I’m also doing my sisters hair- I am fairly nervous about it…we have practiced several times and have plans of practicing more fingers crossed she will love it come prom day! I can’t wait to see them all snazzied up!!

(I wrote this post yesterday afternoon off and on into yesterday evening but by the time I was finished with it I couldn’t post it due to the internet being about because of really bad storms, bummer- so everything is gonna be a day behind and some things the extra day doesnt effect at all. Unfortunately, I did not get around to number five yesterday, so maybe if I don’t have too much to do this evening I’ll try to make it happen, in addition to changes being made, there is only today that stands in between us and Charleston, yay yay yay!) :)

{Project Life Progress: 3}

Project Life Progress.

Before I get started meet my nifty new tool.
I got it last week and I love it.
It puts the rounded edges on all my pictures-
at least the ones I want rounded.
It makes the task so easy with one punch.
I'm so glad my hubby found it for me!

Picking up from where I left off in my last post. I got the journaling completed and that week completed as well, thus the reason I decided to kinda back track. April 1st-11th on these pages. (1) P.L. layout highlighting our daily routine, family portraits, our putt-putt adventure, my workout mis-hap and journaling. (2) P.L. layout highlighting our day to day life, the day we spent at the park, going "down the mountain" for an early celebration of my birthday and Easter. (a picture has been blacked out for privacy. I didn't want to share it with the entire blogger world, although it a picture I can't help but LOVE!) (3&4) I used a 6x12, 6 picture protector to include pictures of Lo painting my new art work. April 10th-17th (1) I included some extras that I had of the finger painting art work that Lo did. Glued two together, punched holes to include them in my book. (2) P.L. layout highlighting our early Easter, outside play (i have a feeling there are going to be TONS of pictures like this- he would live outside if he could!), Shopping or RIDING in his car while shopping with momma and daddy and of course, more outside play! (3) (P.L. layout) our family picture with our garden, my "superman", outside play and the first day of my birthday week. (4) a 6x12, 6 picture protector with extra garden planting pictures continued on to the first picture on the next segment...(another picture has been blocked for privacy behind the 6x12 protector.) Of course, journaling, journaling about the days. April 15th-17th. (1) 6x12 gardening continued. (2&3) I laminated a couple extra pictures that I loved and wanted included but didn't have the space for them- plus they are vertical and with laminating them they are made upright instead of sideways. (4) The back side of a 12x12, 12 picture protector of extra pictures from a couple weeks that I wanted to include in my book. You can kinda see the front side on picture two- again one picture has been blacked and blocked out. April 18th-22nd. (1&2) I created something a little different that I wanted to include. In photoshop I made an 8x10 picture, with pictures of Lo, making it into "a conversation with Logan"- it has questions on it that we asked him with the answers that he gave for the questions. I just love this idea and will continue to do them as he gets older with different questions as well as the same to see how his answers will differ as time changes. I backed it with scrapbook cardstock after writing on the back some of the cute things that he says, laminated it, punched holes and included it in my book. (3&4) Again, I used a 6x12, 6 picture protector to include all the little birthday week things that my honey did or gave. I bet you can't tell that I love these little lovelies (I only include them every other page!) :) April 19th-24th. (1) Daily life and adventures continued in the P.L. layout- along with journaling. (2) Birthday date with my hubby (such a great day), my birthday DAY (my sweet message), coloring Easter eggs and our Easter card. No journaling on this page- I used all the spaces with movie ticket stubs, a note that went along with my birthday message and my polaroids taken with my instax camera that I love so much. I will eventually include a long journaler for these days. (3) a close up of the polaroid included. :) (4) Laminated picture of myself and Lo- the back in continued in the next segment of pictures. April 23rd. (1) The back of the laminated picture above. (2&3) I used a 6x12, 6 picture protector to include pictures of my birthday celebration. (4) I punched holes in my birthday cards and included them as keepsakes in my book. April 24th. (1&2) I used a 12x12, 12 picture protector to include all the pictures of our Easter festivities, coloring eggs, hiding and hunting. (3&4) I used a 6x12, 6 picture protector to include more pictures hightlighting how we spent our Easter. (A long journaler will be used to journal about our day!) April 24th cont... (1&2) I laminated a couple 4x6's of my pilot because they were a MUST to include. (3&4) our Easter craft- Lo painted this poster- I backed it with a sheet of scrapbook paper that I cut down to an 8.5x11 size- glued it on there and included a couple pictures of him painting it on the back- placed it in an 8.5x11 protector and included it in my book.
Until next time,

{b'day week}: day 03-present

It's been a few days since my last post I have been so busy enjoying my week with my boys that I simply didn't take the time to post. They have made my birthday so SPECTACULAR and it's not even my birthday yet. I couldn't have imagined this week any better than what it has been! (Thank you, my loves.) Tomorrow is the big day and with all the build-up and excitement the end is drawing near and although I'm so excited for the actual day I find myself feeling a little blue, crazy, I KNOW...I have SO much to look forward to. Here is more of what my birthday week has consisted of:

{day 03: Tuesday} The hubby came home from work and surprised me with an at-home movie night extravaganza....SO MUCH FUN! We ended up watching a movie we had recorded (Valentine's Day) instead of the one he had bought (although, letters to juliet is definitely a cute movie, we just decided we would watch another). The night was great, I love moments like that cuddled up on the couch with each other. {day 04: Wednesday} Found this little ditty on my facebook wall. :)

{day 05: Thursday} Thursday held a sweet gift an exciting day in store. B and Lo decided that they would make me a birthday girl cup for my big day. Well, bless their hearts they had invisioned it better than how it turned out. But I loved it none-the-less, just darling. B was so disappointed, but felt better knowing that he had something more in store. He suprised me with a birthday date, which happened today. He took his day off and we spent the entire day hanging out. We headed to Pigeon Forge and went to the first showing of "Water for Elephants"- it was a great movie, definitely a must see! After the movie ended, we went to the outlets for a little shopping, then on to the scrapbook store (I wanted to get some different page protectors for my project life book)! Then it was time to head home to the kiddo for dinner. It was a great day with my man.

{day 06: Friday} Not only did I have a magnificent day out with my hubby today, he contemplated giving my one of my birthday presents early, he mulled it over and finally decided to do it (he is too funny, he can't stand it, he ALWAYS gives me something early, don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining when I say that, if we're being honest I love it!!! :))He proceeded to get the computer out to show me something he had made. It was a little "slide-show presentation" consisting of the still frames below (they are in correct order): WHAT?!? shut the front door...are you serious?!? Yep, he is! I am so excited, I can hardly stand it. Charleston is one of, if not my favorite place...and my boys are taking me. Yes, most definitely excited. YAY, YAY, YAY!!!

It has been a BIG week and tomorrow is the "day." I am excited to party it out with my family!

(**on a sappy side note (because I know he'll read this): Thank you, my love for making me feel extra special this week. For planning and doing so many things to make this week simply spectacular. You and Lo are THE BEST! I love y'all so much, goodness, you have no idea. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! xoxo, momma.)

birthday week (the first two days)

"Happy Birthday Week"
to me.
I love birthdays- they are SO exciting
(not to mention VERY important)
especially when you get to celebrate
ALL WEEK (not just one day!)
B'day weeks are a H. family tradition-
and although we celebrate each otherEVERYDAY
this is something a little different...
something extra special.

Here is what the first two days of my B'day week have consisted of, in pictures of course:

{day 01}: Sunday, the hubby hubster took the little mr. b'day present shopping for momma (me). As for me, I stayed at home, relaxing with the windows raised, watching a little t.v.- a bit of me time you could say. They were gone for what felt like FOREVER- two hours if not more. When they returned, I eagerily greeted them, as did the kiddo shouting excitedly, "MOMMA, I GOTTA PRIZE FOR YOU!!! A MONSTER TRUCK!" Daddy, made light of it and we went on about our business. The excitement got the best of Lo and eventually I was given my first B'day prize: an AWESOME Monster truck! I love it, I love the way his mind works for "prize" getting- he gets things he loves and to me that is the best EVER...he is the best EVER.
(note: He spent the rest of the evening playing with my b'day prize.)

{day 02}: Monday evening I received an email from the hubster containing the picture that you see above. What a great gift! He knows me all too well, but of course he is supposed to! I have never been for a professional massage and have no desire to (he's the best as far as I'm concerned)...he has spoiled me GREATLY.

and it's only just begun (eeek!)
to be continued....
